Conditions of entry
European Union citizens, citizens from Switzerland, USA and Australia needs by entry Thailand for a stay up to 30 days only a at least 6 months valid passport, as well as a back or a far flight ticket. This right to reside cannot be extended.
For stays up to 60 days the diplomatic Thai agencies in the respective homeland issue a tourist visa. This can be extended in Thailand by the immigration authorities uniquely around maximally 30 days.
For stays of 90 days or longer also Non-Immigrant-Visas are issued by the diplomatic Thai agencies in the respective homeland. For this however certain conditions are to be fulfilled.

Accompanying children need their own passport. Child documents of identification are not recognized!
Offences against the conditions of entry are regarded of the Thai authorities as criminal offence! Please absolutely consider the valid regulations. An offence can draw hard punishments!
Inoculations
At present no obligation inoculations are necessary with entries made of Europe, Australia or USA. However the following inoculations are for all travelers recommended:
- Rabies
- Typhoid fever
- Japanese Encephalitis
- Influenza
With entries from yellow fever Epidemic regions a yellow fever inoculation is obligated

Malaria
At resent increased risk exists in the border areas to Myanmar in the northwest and to Cambodia in the east. In the south increased risk on some islands (i.e. Ko Chang, Ko Mak).
At present no malaria risk in Bangkok, Chiang May, Chiang Rai, Pattaya, Phuket, Ko Samui.
Protection from mosquito bites offer bright clothes, mosquito-free sleep areas and/or. Mosquito nets.
For detailed information concerning malaria, prophylaxis, standby medication a tropical physician is recommended absolutely.
Medical suply
In Bangkok and the general tourist centers a good and inexpensive medical supply in international hospitals is ensured. The large hospitals around Bangkok and Phuket are excellent.
Money / currency
The currency in Thailand is the Baht (THB). 1 Baht is divided into 100 Satang.
Currency exchange
Cash money (EUR, USD, AUD, GBP, CHF, SEK) can be changed in THB in banks or exchange offices.
Banks are opened at working days of 08:30 to 15:30.
Many exchange offices at airports and tourist centers also on Sundays and public holidays, partly to 22:00.
ATM machines are available in each city or tourist place.
The fees are very different. Please contact your bank for further information.
Credit Cards
Credit Cards are accepted in almost all shops, hotels and the bigger restaurants. Sometimes an increase of 3-5% will be charged.
